Hi, I’m Cooper Spring, otherwise known as supermumbo online. I am an aspiring Seattle-based composer, sound designer, and artist who has a deep understanding of both modern and retro sound design, and a particular fondness for the crunchy, aliased sound of consoles like the Nintendo DS and Game Boy Advance. Growing up with these consoles, I grew to appreciate the unique texture and compositional approaches that game developers had to work with due to their limitations, and recapturing that kind of sound is something that I have a strong passion for. I put an emphasis on having distinct character and variety in my creative approaches to both music and sound effects, having a broad width of styles and sounds to call upon to meet whatever needs your project has.
As a graduate from Oregon State University’s Music Technology & Production program, I have experience working on both school and personal projects. Over the course of my college career, I have worked on amazing music for solo and group projects for several of OSU’s Diffusions concerts, which are end-of-term capstone concerts where the entire program presents the best of their work. Outside of school, I maintain an active YouTube channel where I upload various personal tracks, as well as work on projects for Game Jam competitions as a sound designer. I am eager to work either in-person or remotely with you on whatever project you need a sound designer for, so don’t hesitate to reach out!
